Why pine away for a beautiful garden when you could hop on Pinterest (see Tuesday’s blog!) and get great ideas to take your garden from mundane to magical. I’m not the type to spend my days online, but within 10 minutes on Pinterest, I’d found new, interesting ideas that I’d never seen before (and I’ve seen a lot of houses, so that’s saying something!). I’m going to share a few with you today, and I encourage you to make use of Pinterest too!
Marbles aren’t just for kids. Add marbles to your garden fence for a splash of color that is unexpected, subtle, and unique. Don’t go overboard – think colorful constellations, and click here for the how-tos. What a sweet, sunny way to spice up a back yard.
And speaking sweet, the next idea that caught my eye is clever and environmentally conscious. Use your little ones’ outgrown rain boots (or pick up some used ones at a consignment shop) and turn them into planters. Your marigolds will be merry in these colorful re-used receptacles.
Other cute and clever pins included hose holders that look like tree brances (whimsical and so much nicer than plastic!), a tip that the “Warm Summer” Coneflower is a new, must-grow perennial for 2012, and a link to an article that tells you how to grow a beautiful garden FAST! And that might be just what you need if your home for sale needs a little landscaping help!
So, stop pining away for the perfect yard and pin away instead!
